We built a new website for The Willows Community, a residential community in Southern California, with an emphasis on empowering community stakeholders to curate site content, in particular adding and managing events.
This project represented a major update for The Willows Foundation. The previous edition of the site was a spider-web of static HTML files and broken links. I used a web-crawler to pull most of the salvageable content out of the existing site, and starting moving it into a Wordpress installation. We developed a new theme. We wanted the new design to reflect the colours and shapes of the surrounding landscape, while putting community content front-and-centre.
We weren't interested in a complete logo redesign, but needed higher resolution files, and felt the existing graphics could use a facelift. I Re-created the original graphic in Illustrator, and made some tweaks to spacing and colours.
